Use cody's special to move an upgrade from him to K2, this will ready K2. Then if you claim, move the upgrade BACK to cody so you can do it all again.

Sorry to say this, but you can only ready him once. K-2SO - Reprogrammed Droid has an ability that says once per game. Love the idea though! Paying 2 extra for a weapon on K2 sucks!
