Is this just a battle of attrition using traditional damage? Is co-pilot a better value at 1 cost for 3 or 4 health compare to endless ranks for 5 for 9?

Endless ranks is also used because of it synergy with redeploy. Although that gimmick is probably used better in 2xE INSL decks.

@Patrick Co-pilot is a trap, it looks great on paper but it doesn't do much in the game. The opponent can easily just switch to target whoever has it and it just becomes a simple +1 hp for 1 resource which isn't good value, plus it doesn't add anything to the board, In this deck you mainly want to be spending your money on increasing your board state and with 36 health to start, it just isn't worth it. Even if your goal is to have them shoot whoever has it on to say get redeploys going that will happen anyway eventually. At least in all my games of testing I just didn't find it worth a card slot and a money, maybe your experience will be different.
