Working my way through the newly-balanced Redemption characters means trying Dak Ralter - Rogue Gunner for the first time. I ran down a suggestion from Landowonka to pair him with the other super- shieldy pilot Plo Koon - Jedi Ace and Armored Reinforcement... we've stumbled on a firestorm of 2 ranged!
So much synergy with shield generation - from Dak's ability, from Flanked by Wingmen, and from ships like Plo Koon's Starfighter and Millennium Falcon. And those shields aren't just for defense... with Nullify and Plo's ability, the shields double as removal and money.
Don't like what you rolled? Add in some extra reroll and focus from Heavy Laser Cannon, Rogue Two, Echo Base, and Wookiee Fluttercraft.
The rest of the vehicles add something extra with Rogue One eating specials, Marauder finding the cards you're looking for, and even the lil' DC0052 Speeder setting off a fun chain of activating Master Plo who can then pilot something else.
Rounding out the package and keeping things fast is action-cheaty mitigation like Assail, Battle Tactic, Eject, and Roll In The Mud plus Westar-35 Blaster Pistol for more 2-ranged roll-outs, Armory to pay for it all, and Strategic Strike for those pesky Jedi Temple Guards, Den of Thieves or droids hanging around on the field.
