Is this the most complicated deck in the format? No. Is it the most efficient? Still no. Does it roll sticks and make my dopamine receptors do the happy dance? Heck Yeah!
In all seriousness, with limited prep time, I knew I wanted to play something consistent and having Palp to help fix dice or mitigate as needed, the removal suite of Red Villain Leaders and Vaders PA and die sides, this footed the bill. Unlike a lot of Vader's previous pairings, by putting upgrades on Palp he becomes a viable threat and in many games he was actually the one that won the game for me.
Ideal opener is a money making card, roll in Vader, PA Palp playing Aturu on himself to fix a Vader die to a 3, do lots of damage
Had a blast and anyone looking for a decent consistent aggressive deck could do much worse than giving this a spin.
Cards I would change - Shoto (didnt play 1 all day), The Best defence (when palp is going to carry the game, 3 damage is a lot - its also a lot worse than it was into resilience)
Results
G1: Enphys Nest Kuil - Win
G2: Allya Talzin Retribution - Lose
G3: Palp, Zanah, IG Thug, WYGWGI - Win
G4: Addle Luke - Win
G5: Addle Luke - Lose (on the last die roll in time, think i would have had it if we went to another turn or my opponent didnt roll the 1 in 6 on one with the force to win the tiebreaker - I'll get you next time Norman!)
G6: Cassian, Hera, Anakin, Ace Pilots - Win
After a couple of drops due to timing, I snuck into the top 8 despite finishing 9th in the swiss. The quarter final was a weird game where neither of our dice really wanted to co-operate. Rebel Traitor has it recorded if you want to watch it. Long story short 2:0 loss to Allya Talzin and an early night.
Many thanks to all my opponents for a fun filled day and to Landowonka for running a superbly run event
